Bison-Illustrated-Titletown

North Dakota State’s success is built from the ground up. Student-athletes and coaches thrive when a solid foundation is installed before their arrival so they can grow from a nutritious base. We pounded the pavement on-campus to find that foundation and we found it with NDSU Athletics’ facilities.

Check Your Mailbox For Fargo By Fargo This Week

Fargo By Fargo just hit our mailbox, this means it’s on its way to you. This week, make sure to check your mailbox for your copy. Remember to let us know when you got it, too! Take a picture of your issue and share it on Facebook with the hashtag #FargoByFargo and tag @SpotlightMediaFargo.

We hope you love the magazine as much as we do!

The magazine was mailed out to 100,000 residential mailboxes in the Fargo-Moorhead-West Fargo community. It may take longer for Fargo By Fargo to reach some homes.

About Fargo By Fargo

Fargo By Fargo tells the story of the FM area. To do this, the entire narrative of the publication is told through the words of the citizens that make up our great community. We asked locals, “What does Fargo mean to you?” With their answers, Fargo By Fargo was created. The identity of the FM community is shaped by nearly 230,000 citizens, so why not let them tell the story?

Fargo By Fargo was created to be something unique,” Fargo By Fargo Editor Andrew Jason said. “It’s not just a magazine, it’s a conversation. We, as much as possible, tried to step back. We believe the story of the community is your story and we want to share it. This is what you told us. This is what we talked about. We hope you love Fargo By Fargo as much as we love the community.”

Fargo By Fargo is an insider’s guide chalk full of individuals from the community talking about their favorite places, people and things to do. Printed on high-quality paper, the magazine is also meant to be a collector’s item with relevant content people can reference any time of the year. Readers will learn more about what the community has to offer, and (hopefully) fall in love with it all over again.

Our First-Ever Monthly Magazine Release Party

Our First-Ever Monthly Magazine Release Party

The Spotlight Media team had a blast at our first-ever magazine release party last night at ABOVO in Fargo. The event was organized to celebrate everyone who helped make our February issues of Fargo INC!, Fargo Monthly, Design & Living Magazine and Bison Illustrated possible.

“Our team doesn’t just put ink on paper, we bring people together,” Spotlight Media Publisher Mike Dragosavich said. “This event was a way to help connect people who are doing amazing things for this community.”

Fargo North High School jazz band

In each magazine, we shine a spotlight on locals who are making an impact in our community in one way or another. The release party brought them all together under one roof for an evening of sipping wine, posing in front of a media screen and listening to a performance by students of Fargo North High School’s jazz band.

“We couldn’t have asked for a better evening,” Dragosavich said.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who came out to celebrate with us. Our team is planning to continue hosting monthly magazine release parties going forward.

*The events are exclusive to our team and all those featured in each magazine.

Meet Spotlight Media’s New Senior Sales Executive, Ryan Courneya

Meet Spotlight Media’s New Senior Sales Executive, Ryan Courneya

Photos by Hillary Ehlen

Spotlight Media is constantly growing and changing. As we’re sad to see team members go, we’re always excited to announce our newest hires. Since all our employees come from a wide range of backgrounds, each member offers unique skills that help the Spotlight Media team become even stronger and more well-rounded.

Meet our new senior sales executive, Ryan Courneya, and learn what makes him a perfect fit for our company.

Ryan Courneya | Senior Sales Executive

Senior Sales Executive

“I received my degree in mass communications and public relations from MSUM. Through my professional journey after graduation, I’ve had the privilege to work for the Boy Scouts of America primarily in fundraising and recruiting, Newman Signs, managing and working in the advertising field with outdoor and then I had a short run working at Sanford in the marketing department and had the honor of helping with the opening of the new medical center. All of these places have given me valuable skills and insight to bring my expertise and knowledge to this amazing team at Spotlight Media.”

What originally drew you to Spotlight Media?
“I have been following the success and work that has been done at Spotlight Media for several years now and have always been so impressed with the quality of the content and the dedication that I’ve seen from this company. I loved what the company stood for in trying to unveil all the good that is in the Fargo-Moorhead area. After trying out the several places I had worked, I got a sense of what I liked from each place and Spotlight Media seemed to fill the criteria of what I was looking for. The energy, passion and vision of the company really motivated me to learn more and want to be a part of an innovative and creative team.”

What kinds of hobbies and interests do you have outside of work?
“I’m an outdoorsy person but also appreciate style and class and being enriched in the city culture. I like to network and know a lot about Fargo and be sort of an expert on the area. I also like to hunt, camp and fish. Growing up in a small town in Minnesota, it almost came standard—plus I’m an Eagle Scout. I also enjoy going to the Family Wellness and being health conscious and focused on my well being.”

What’s your favorite book and/or movie?
“My favorite book as a kid was ‘Hatchet,’ now I mostly read motivational books.”

Share something about yourself that would surprise us.
“Last December, I had to have shoulder surgery because I tore something in my shoulder while playing a game of kickball for the Fargo Parks league. Happy to say, my team, ‘The Average Toes,’ won the championship game. Sadly, it probably wasn’t because of my awkward throw.”

What’s the most useless talent you have?
“I don’t know if it’s a talent but I do use it to freak people out sometimes, I can hyperextend my left elbow because I broke it in the 3rd grade.”

What’s a ridiculous fact you know?
“All the water in Lake Superior would cover North and South America in one foot of water.”
