Team Spotlight: Meet A Few Of Spotlight Media’s Team Members

Here are a few fun facts about some of Spotlight Media’s team members. You may find out something new about the people that make up this company.

ANDREW JASON

1. What is your favorite candy?
Andrew: Swedish Fish

2. Would you rather cook a meal or go out to eat?
Andrew: The older I get, the more I like to cook. However, I’ll never turn down going out for a good meal at one of Fargo’s great restaurants. My personal favorite is Rhombus Guys. I always go with the Louisiana Saturday Night.

3. What is a pet peeve of yours?
Andrew: When people say, ‘Did you know you have two first names?’ Yes people. I know that I have two first names. I have been living with them for 27 years. You’re not the first person to tell me that.

4. If you could choose to do anything for a day, what would it be?
Andrew: I love to travel so I think my ideal day would be spent going to a new place that’s warm where I can spend the full day on the water and in nature. Being out in nature is my way to relax. I would then end my perfect day by spending the night at a cool brewery with an exotic pizza that Brent would hate because ‘it’s not American’ enough.

5. What is your favorite part about being Spotlight Media’s editorial director?
Andrew: I love that each day is different. While most of the time these days are spent at a desk, I don’t think of my job as a desk job. There are so many tasks that I need to get done that it is very satisfying when I complete those tasks. I also love working with all my coworkers. They are the absolute best and I love being surrounded by creative, funny and talented people everyday.

TANK McNAMERA

Tank McNamera

1. What is your favorite part about being a Sales Representative?
Tank: Making Money! No…the friendly and fun staff that I get to work with!

2. What makes you happy?
Tank: Is this newsletter NC-17 or PG rated? I would say a night at home when my kids behave…and my wife!

3. Tell us about your family.
Tank: I have two kids, both girls that are 3 and 6. My wife Kristy works at Corelink and we have 2 dogs.

4. Favorite dessert?
Tank: A good cheesecake always hits the spot.

5. Dream car?
Tank: Anything that is reliable.

JOE KERLIN

1. What is your favorite part about being the editor of Bison Illustrated?
Joe: Honestly, seeing the magazine around town. You’d think I’d be immune to seeing it out of the office by now, but finding the magazine displayed in a grocery store or bar reminds me of the hard work and dedication put into the magazine every month. And not just Bison Illustrated, I get that feeling with all the magazines. It’s even better when I see people reading it. That just reinforces all the reasons why we do what we do as an editorial staff. (Yeah, I know that sounds cheesy, but it’s the truth.)

2. What is your favorite thing about Fargo?
Joe: It’s ambition. People here seem to believe they can do anything they want to as long as they set their mind to it. The startup community is fun to follow. The Kilbourne’s Group relentless pursuit to creating a ‘vibrant’ downtown is neat. This company. The Inspiration to work hard and be the best is all over this city when you start looking for it.

3. What is your favorite sport to play vs watch?
Joe: I’m old school in that I love to watch baseball. But soccer has been a fun, new infatuation for me this year. Favorite sport to play is either hammerschlagen, corn hole (bags), or any other sport that requires me to hold a cold one.

4. What is something on your bucket list?
Joe: Go to Europe before they ban Americans. Norway, Germany, and Italy, specifically. That’s where most of my ancestors are from so it’d be cool to visit the motherland.

5. What is a goal you have set for yourself in the next three years?
Joe: Shoot a round of golf with Tim Polasek and Tyler Roehl, gorge myself at an all-you-can-eat buffet with the offensive line, have some casual beers with Chris Klieman and beat Matt Larsen in a push-up contest all in one day. We will document this, of course.

PAUL BOUGIE

Paul Bougie

3. Do you collect anything?

4. Would you rather swim in a pool or in an ocean?

5. What is the most valuable life lesson you have learned so far?
