“I’m from Glen Ullin, N.D., and I’m the youngest of six siblings. I moved to Fargo almost five years ago now, (gasp!) to attend NDSU. There, I studied visual arts and English education. I graduated in December 2016 with a degree in English education with an emphasis in communications. Before coming to Spotlight Media, I completed my student teaching at Ben Franklin Middle School in North Fargo. I have also been a consultant at the NDSU Center for Writers and a contributing writer to the NDSU Spectrum.”
What kinds of hobbies and/or interests do you have outside of work?
“I love trying new restaurants and window-shopping in Downtown Fargo. I am very interested in visual arts, especially animation. When I’m not at work, you can usually find me covered in paint from some project or other.”

What drew you to Spotlight Media?
“I saw an online ad for assistant editor of Design & Living Magazine, and I felt like the job description had been written about me. It was a very weird feeling!”
What’s your favorite part about your new position, so far? What are you looking forward to?
“So far, interviews have been my favorite part because I enjoy talking to people and learning about all things interior design. I’m also looking forward to sending the March issue to print, the DIY and Tiny House issues coming up and just having warmer weather during photo shoots.”
If you could switch your job with anyone else within Spotlight Media for a week, whose job would you want? Why?
“I would switch jobs with a designer because I think I’d like laying out the pages.”
Lastly, is there a food you can’t stand and don’t understand why others like it?
