Fargo Monthly: The Artist Issue
This months issue is near completion and we can’t wait to show you our piece of art. Making Fargo Beautiful is our main theme in May’s issue, exposing Fargo-Moorhead to the talented artists this great city has to offer. From creative watercolor paintings to the complicated process of printmaking, these artists epitomize the meaning of “masters of their craft.”
Moving to a different form of art, this month issue tells the story of this year’s winner of the Fargo Star competition, Addie Onchuck. The high school senior gave us an exclusive interview into her life before the award and what she plans to do with her bright future in music. Addie isn’t the only performer we had a chance to speak to this month. The MSUM Straw Hat Players tell us the history of their 50-year existence and give us the down-low on their 30-member dance group.
We love animals here at Spotlight so we couldn’t leave out the Red River Zoo. Our editor, Andrew, got down and dirty with the many animals of the Red River Zoo.
Among the great feature stories, May’s issue includes the popular Chef’s Corner with our first woman chef, Dotty Curry! Also, a tour inside the rich history of the Avalon Building. The 105-year-old structure has seen a lot in its day, offering an opportunity to see for ourselves the history of the F-M area.
Be on the lookout for May’s issue of Fargo Monthly! Always free and always enjoyable reading at a newsstand near you.
