This shot of Nick Horob was taken by Hillary Ehlen for the cover of our Fargo Inc Magazine this month. She used studio lighting combined with colored gels to create a shadow on the subject and give the background the orange tint.  She also used cover overlays in post-production to add the finishing the touches.

Fargo Monthly Black Transparent

What is better than beer and food? In this issue, we pair the two together (literally). We teamed up with local breweries and local restaurants to pair Fargo-Moorhead-born beers with hand-crafted Red River Valley dishes. Sophisticated palates are certainly not required as we span the entire city searching for the perfect beer and food pairings. Here is what we found.

Whether you are a Bison fan or not, very few recognize the details that go into the North Dakota State athletic competitions we enjoy watching. One of those details is science and the various branches of that vague term. From a sheer scientific perspective, there are a host of physical and mental ingredients that need to occur over the course of a play, game or sequence to achieve athletic success. What are these ingredients? And how do they create a recipe for success at North Dakota State? We take a deep dive inside the world of sports science to answer those questions.

This month, we met in our very own art museum, The Rourke Art Gallery + Museum, and recruited some local artists to model looks from nearby boutiques. In a town like Fargo, no one industry stands alone, but instead, they are all intermingled and supportive of one another. We selected young, local artists as our models to showcase the art of styling, but also to celebrate the unity of sectors that make Fargo so special.

Kirsten Lund Hire Spotlight Fargo

Kirsten Lund Joins Spotlight as Inbound Marketing Strategist

We’re growing at Spotlight and we’re pretty excited about it! We recently hired Kirsten Lund as our new Inbound Marketing Strategist. Kirsten was working as the Digital Marketing Strategist a smaller agency for over five years downtown Fargo. Prior to that, she worked in traditional media buying for a large agency in Fargo just shy of four years.

Read on to see why her near decade of agency experience and certifications lead us to bring her on board to this critical role as we expanded into a Marketing Agency.

Here are some initial questions we asked her when she started.

Tell us a little bit about yourself.

I graduated from Concordia College with a BA in Business Management in 2011. The day after graduation, I went to work for a large marketing agency in Fargo. In 2014, I went to work for a smaller agency and focused my efforts on digital marketing, managing a number of clients in a wide variety of industries for over five years. I have a heart for the Fargo-Moorhead area, and I’m excited that I have the opportunity to continue to bring my best efforts forward to help clients in the community succeed.

We’re expanding into the B2B market. Do you think HubSpot is the solution? If so, why?

I’m glad to hear that – especially with how many businesses have been (and continue to be) popping up in the area. HubSpot is definitely the solution for any B2B consumer when it comes to lead generation. Lead generation is a more helpful and human approach to growing your business. You need to attract, engage, and delight people that provide value and build trust with your organization. HubSpot is the number one platform known to do just that.

Overall, HubSpot is an all-in-one inbound marketing software that has everything you need to get found, engage new people, and nurture them into leads that sales will love.

That’s why we at Spotlight became an Agency Partner.

What makes you so sure of HubSpot? Do you have any trainings or certifications to prove this?

Great question! Yes, I do. When I was at the agency prior to joining the amazing team at Spotlight, I earned the following HubSpot Certifications:

  • Marketing Software Certification
  • Agency Partner Certification
  • Social Media Certification

Are these certifications important?

Absolutely! Continuing education is critical in any field, especially when it’s relevant in the ever-changing world of technology. If you keep your head down too long, you’ll be left behind. The good news? HubSpot provides FREE training courses for anyone to take. It’s just a matter of setting aside the time to do it. Whether you’re interested in content marketing, email marketing, sales enablement, or more, they have a plan in place for you. Check out HubSpot Academy to start your certification process any time. Not only is it FREE – but it will look great on your resume, will help your organization get ahead of the game when you start working with them…you name it. Your only regret? Not trying it out.

What did your HubSpot certifications bring to Spotlight?

Since I was already Marketing Software Certified and Agency Partner Certified, this allowed Spotlight to become a full-fledged HubSpot Certified Agency Partner as soon as they became an Agency Partner (which didn’t take long). I’m so thrilled that I was able to bring my knowledge and expertise over to an agency that’s excited to implement this tool to local and regional clients who want to use this tool for their own digital marketing strategy as a way to drive leads!

What can HubSpot do for Spotlight’s clients?

Amongst many features, we’re currently focusing HubSpot’s efforts on lead generation for our clients. This is a powerful tool for our B2B clients when it comes to acquiring new customers. HubSpot allows us to create custom landing pages, contact forms, unique CTAs (calls to action), email templates, automated workflows – you name it. The best part of this tool is the fact that all of its data is in real-time and is automated.

We have customer support whenever we need it, so if we ever have a question or are unsure of whether or not a campaign is set up correctly, our resources are just an email or phone call away. Our clients can rest knowing that we are the area’s certified agency partner when it comes to lead generation not only because we have the knowledge, but we have the resources to back us up.

Do you need digital marketing and better leads that convert to sales?  Contact us today and get the pleasure to work with our professionals just Kirsten.
