“I have a deep passion for the opportunities that the Young Professionals Network offers and I think my natural enthusiasm will help promote the organization and keep current members engaged with the events and programs,” Johnson said.
The Young Professionals Network is a program of the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber that assists young professionals from the Fargo-Moorhead community in enhancing their professional skill set, instill community engagement and diversify their networks. Johnson has been a member for over three years and acted as past chair of the YPN Social Committee. She said, the experience has allowed her “to make deeper connections with my peers as well as strengthen my leadership skills.”
“I am looking forward to continuing my involvement with the YPN Leadership Committee and Social Committee to develop new ideas to improve current initiatives and find ways to increase membership,” she said.
Under the current leadership of chair Amanda Carlson with State Farm, Samantha Gust of the Chamber and the YPN Leadership committee, Johnson hopes to help with new ideas for the organization, deepen the connection of YPN members with the FMWF Chamber of Commerce and learn effective ways to lead the group when she advances to the chair position next year.
“I’m thrilled to be a part of the decision behind one of the best chambers in the nation,” Dragosavich said. “I hope that my love for the community and its growing entrepreneurial ecosystem can help put the FMWF Chamber in a better position to serve our business community. Spotlight Media was honored to be in the top three businesses for the Small Business of the Year ChamberChoice Award.
Last month, about 800 people gathered at the Ramada Plaza & Suites for the Fargo Moorhead West Fargo Chamber of Commerce’s ChamberChoice Awards. The annual event recognized the accomplishments of the business community by honoring its leaders for their achievements.
The 2016 ChamberChoice Awards had a record-breaking 650 nominations and 58 candidates. From the candidates, three finalists were named in six categories: Small Business of the Year, Business of the Year, Small Not-for-Profit of the Year, Not-for-Profit of the Year, Entrepreneur of the Year and Young Professionals Best Place to Work. The winners were then unveiled at the luncheon on May 20. Finalists and winners were selected by a panel of independent judges from the regional business community, who evaluated accomplishments in the areas of business growth, innovation, creativity, community involvement and unique achievements relating to a specific business or industry.
Even though Spotlight Media didn’t take the win, it was proud to be named a finalist among other exceedingly accomplished and successful businesses.
