Where are you from?
Northwood, ND. It’s a town of about 900 people 35 miles west of Grand Forks, deep behind enemy lines in Fighting Hawks territory.
Tell us a little bit about you.
North Dakota native and lifelong Bison fan who played four years of golf for Concordia while studying communications and mass media. Took various “day jobs” after college but kept writing. Started writing professionally about the Green Bay Packers in 2012 and about the Bison in 2015. I own an insurance business in Fargo and married my beautiful wife Jessie in August.
If there was a movie about your life, who would play you and why?
Paul Rudd — he’s quite a bit better looking (and older) than I am but we have a similar sense of sarcastic humor.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
It’s still to play golf. I had to take a little bit of a break after playing in college so I wouldn’t take it so seriously and it’s much more fun now.
What’s a ridiculous fact about yourself?
I likely would’ve walked on to the golf program at NDSU in 2006, but completely shattered my leg in a golf cart accident (yes you read that right). I transferred to Concordia to play there after that and I still have a steel rod between my left knee and ankle. No, it does not set off metal detectors.
