Meet Our Newest Photographer:
Where are you from?
West Fargo, ND
Tell us a little bit about you.
I’m a photographer, cat mom and dog trainer, in that order. I started to get into photography in middle school because I wanted to take photos of my pets and the animals I saw on vacations.
If there was a movie about your life, who would play you and why?
Anna Kendrick. Some people say we look alike, I don’t see it though. However, we are both kind of cool but kind of awkward at the same time.
What is your favorite thing to do in your spare time?
You’ll usually find me hanging out my pets or reading a book. I also love frequenting the many coffee shops we have downtown to work on one thing or another. Oh, and my parents and I play bingo a lot.
What’s a ridiculous fact about yourself?
I put impala poop in my mouth in Mozambique for a spitting contest. I guess that’s one of the games the locals play.
What part of your position provides the most value?
For me it’s all about connections. Of course I love photography, but the most valuable part of this experience will be getting to know the faces behind my camera.
Tell us about your experience.
After graduating from MSUM, I headed straight down to Sarasota, Florida, where I worked for a local weekly newspaper. I was the Black Tie Editor, so I attended the 300 plus Black Tie parties and took photos at them. After two years, I gave up the sun and social scene to return home.
What part of your job do you believe makes the most impact?
Showcasing how amazing Fargo is! We are more than just the movie.
Why does our community matter to you?
Our community matters to me because it is the heart and soul of Fargo. There’s no place like it. If it wasn’t for that, I wouldn’t want to live where the air hurts my face half the year.
